Fabian Kauter, Switzerland, defeats the best epee fencers in the world to emerge as winner of Challenge Bernadotte

When Challenge Bernadotte Stockholm Grand Prix ended on Sunday afternoon, Fabian Kauter stood at the top of the podium after defeating France‘s Ronan Gustin in an exciting final.

On his way to the final, Kauter succeded to overturn late match deficits in several bouts. In the semi final, he could turn around a score of 11-14 to win 15-14 against the reigning world champion Nikolai Novosjolov from Estonia.

The victory take the 26 year old Fabian Kauter a big step closer to qualifying for next year's Olympic Games in London.
