Two young Swedes through to the final day of Challenge Bernadotte Stockholm Grand Prix - 191 fencers started, 64 remain

On Saturday morning 191 fencers from 43 countries started the day at the Grand Prix competition Challenge Bernadotte in Stockholm Sweden. When evening came, 64 fencers remain for Sunday‘s final round at the Eriksdalshallen venue in Stockholm. Among the 64, there are two young and upcoming Swedes; Vincent Alston from the FFF club in Stockholm and Philip von Platen from KF99, in Kungsbacka, near Gothenburg.

On Sunday morning, they will fight matches against the absolute top fencers in the world, since the top 16 on the world ranking then will enter into the competition.

The spectators will see the current world number one Gauthier Grumier, France, the second ranked Gabor Boczko, Hungary, number three Jean-Michel Lucenay, France and the winner of Challenge Bernadotte from 2010 Jörg Fiedler, Germany, now number four on the world ranking. The competition gets extra exciting due to the fact that it is one of the first in the series of competitions deciding who gets to go to the London Olympics.

The entire list of fencers remaining in the competition.

Semi finals will start at 3.30 PM (CET).
